As many of you know, (I’ve been telling anyone who will listen) Camp NaNoWriMo began on Wednesday and I’ll be working on the second draft of Stealth. I’ve roped in a friend to help me with a “pre-beta” read and he and I are reading, editing and working toward a better draft. So far I’ve accomplished two chapters in two days, but I have a long way to go. You can keep tabs on my progress on my camp stats page, and keep me motivated with well wishes and a few well placed pokes.
Enjoy your 4th of July Americans and your weekend everyone else!

The wind blew through his hair, whipping it into his face and tearing a scream from his lungs.
The red corvette sped down the highway, the stolen wheels zipping through traffic as nimble as a ballerina. Derek turned the volume up on the center console, heavy metal ripping from the speakers and filling the air around the car. He expertly wove between the speeding cars, laughing at their angry faces and waving back in sarcasm.
In one breath taking swirve he maneuvered from the left lane, three lanes over to exit the freeway. When he pulled to a stop at the light he clicked a few buttons on the GPS.
“Canada eh’? Why not?” He started the route guidance and leaned back into the seat with a sigh.
From the corner of his eye he could see a young woman in a mini-cooper waving at him, he lowered his shades and winked at her. She giggled as the light turned and he peeled off down the street towards the coast.
He reached over to the passenger seat and picked up the owner’s cell phone with a laugh, chucked it over his shoulder and into the back seat before sipping from a Starbucks cup and putting his foot down on the accelerator.
