the book report
Some lovely human on Kickstarter has invented the best bath time companion. A waterproof book! On their Kickstarter page, the couple writes of the difficulties they have unplugging before immersing themselves in a good book. "What works for us is to relax in a hot bath, switch off our phones and settle into a great literary classic."
You may or may not know someone who has dyslexia, if you've ever been interested in how they deal with it or what exactly their struggle is, wonder no more. Designer Sam Barclay has created a typeface to simulate the difficulty of reading with dyslexia.
Camp NaNoWriMo is just around the corner (two days!) and I want to make sure the word gets out there about The NaNoWriMo Young Writer's program and the wealth of benefits and resources it has. There are workbooks (for download and purchase) aimed at varying grade levels filled with inspiration starters, writing prompts and story building tools. Just like with the vanilla NaNo program there are also pep-talks from other authors providing advice, words of wisdom and uplifting support. And of course I can't forget their friendly and supportive community! Their forums, twitter and live-streams keep authors company late at night when they burn to keep writing just one more word.
