Woot! It’s Friday! *does a little happy dance* Do you have any exciting plans for the weekend, any good reads or maybe a movie planned? If you’re on the east coast, go out and enjoy that snow you’re getting and if you in the north west… go enjoy the sun? Strangest weather, global warming, huh.
“These books look like someone was in the middle of reading them.”
Prompt: Finish this story however you want. "I woke up this morning and the coffee was burnt."
I woke up late this morning and the coffee was burnt by the time I got to it. Marc must have put the pot on before he went to work assuming I’d be up in time to grab it. He was always doing that sort of thing for me. Constantly checking to see if I was alright, bringing my favorite take out home on nights I worked late, and flowers, lots of flowers. The man must be great friends with our local florist. I walk over to the kitchen counter and bend over to take a deep breath in of the purple roses, delicately arranged in my crystal vase. Their sweet scent tickles my nose and I look at the sludge in my coffee cup, suddenly I wasn’t as willing to sacrifice. I quickly wash out my cup and the pot and set them aside to dry for the day before retreating into our bedroom to change for work. I make my way into the spacious walk in closet and select a few hangers I had set out the night previously. I slip on my stockings, heather grey skirt, and a light blue silk blouse, before quickly stepping into my favorite Dior pumps. With one quick glance in the mirror I head into the bathroom to put on my make-up. A ringing comes from the bedside table and when I approach I see my phone is missing but Marc’s is still in its place. He must have accidentally taken mine with him this morning. I pick it up and answer it.
“Hello” I say to the unknown caller.
“Hello, I’m looking for Marc,” purred a woman on the other end, “this is his wife.”
